Milton Keynes Credit Union is a financial co-operative, which is wholly owned and run by members. It encourages members to save, thereby creating a fund from which loans can be made, so money saved benefits the local community.
The day to day activities of the MKCU such as operating service points, marketing and publicity and administration are carried out by a group of dedicated volunteers.
Anyone who joins MKCU can volunteer to help and full training and supervision will be provided.
Milton Keynes Credit Union is authorised and regulated by the FSA (FRN 417717).
The Credit Union is also a member of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS). This scheme provides a safety net if a bank, building society or Credit Union should collapse. For further information about the scheme (including the amounts covered and eligibility to claim) please ask at your local branch, refer to the FSCS website http://www.fscs.org.uk/ or call 0800 678 1100.
